Tots and hash brown sticks, crisp from the air fryer
Some Great Value frozen potatoes list an air fryer on their product page and some do not, and none of the pages gives a time or temperature. Use the directions printed on the bag you receive. This guide shows which products mention an air fryer, which mention something else, and where we have it from.
We are not going to invent numbers. A guessed temperature on a bag of tots is how you get burnt outsides and cold middles.
Which products list an air fryer
These five Great Value products name the air fryer as a cooking method on their product pages.
| Product | Size | What the page says |
|---|---|---|
| Taters Seasoned and Shredded Potatoes | 32 oz | Frozen tater tots. Prepare in the oven or an air fryer |
| Hash Brown Sticks | 22 oz | Cook directly from the freezer in an oven or air fryer for a crisp outside and soft middle |
| Seasoned Curly Fries | 24 oz | Oven or air fryer |
| Waffle Cut French Fried Potatoes | 24 oz | Oven, air fryer or deep fryer |
| Steak Cut French Fried Potatoes | 28 oz | Oven or air fryer |

For these, cook from frozen and follow the air fryer or oven directions on the package. Air fryer models differ, so the package time is a starting point, not a promise.
Tater tots
The 32 oz Taters are the tater tot product with an air fryer listed. A serving is 9 pieces (85 g) at 160 calories, and the main ingredients are potatoes, sunflower oil, dried potato, salt and a seasoning blend. They include onion powder.
The 80 oz Tater Tots is a different pack. Its product page lists preparation as no-prep and does not name a method. Use the directions on the bag. The ingredients are similar (potatoes, sunflower oil, dried potato, salt, seasoning blend, onion powder), and a serving is again 9 pieces at 160 calories.
Hash browns
This is where people go wrong, because "hash browns" covers several different products in our catalog.
| Product | What the page says | Air fryer listed? |
|---|---|---|
| Hash Brown Sticks, 22 oz | Oven or air fryer, from the freezer | Yes |
| Shredded Hash Browns, 26 oz | Fully cooked; microwave, or stove in a pan or skillet | No |
| Southern Hash Browns, 32 oz | Fully cooked; microwave, or stove in a pan or skillet | No |
| Seasoned Hash Brown Patties, 22.5 oz, 10 ct | Fully cooked; microwave, or oven or skillet for a browner finish | No |

If your bag is one of the shredded or Southern hash browns, the product page lists the stove and microwave, not the air fryer. Check the package: if it has air fryer directions, follow them. If not, use a method it does list.
Before you cook
- Read the package for the time and temperature. That is the only source we trust for these products.
- Cook from frozen unless the package says otherwise. The Hash Brown Sticks page says to cook them straight from the freezer.
- Treat the allergen line on the package as final. The curly fries contain wheat.
Getting them to your door
